A Flight Instructor Rating is a specialized certification that allows qualified pilots to teach and train aspiring aviators. Flight instructors are responsible for educating students on various aspects of aviation, including flight manoeuvres, navigation, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance. Designed predominantly to extend the aeronautical privileges of Commercial Pilot Licence holders, a multi-engine instrument rating enables pilots to safely carry out their role in a broader range of meteorological conditions and at night, using navigation aids.

Instrument Rating training in this diploma programme is conducted on a multi-engine aircraft. The diploma therefore includes the training necessary to obtain a CASA multi-engine rating.
